The control group adopted the traditional English teaching method, and the experimental group relied on the flipped classroom mode for cultivating students’ critical thinking abilities. Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese Version (CTDI-CV) was used as a measuring tool to collect data. Meanwhile, interviews were conducted to observe the changes of students’ critical thinking. The results showed that differences between the control group and the experimental group were statistically significant in four aspects: self-confidence, truth-seeking, open-mindedness, and curiosity. There was no significant difference in other aspects. These results were consistent with the ones of the interviews.
