Abstract: Municipal water supply and drainage engineering plays a vital role in urban infrastructure development, yet its construction activities inevitably exert adverse effects on the surrounding environment. This study systematically analyzes the main environmental impact mechanisms of such projects from the perspectives of air quality deterioration, water pollution, noise and vibration disturbance, and solid waste generation. The findings reveal that the environmental impacts of municipal pipeline construction are characterized by periodicity, complexity, and cumulative effects. To mitigate these issues, a systematic set of countermeasures is proposed, covering environmental impact assessment during the pre-construction stage, pollution prevention and control during construction, and ecological restoration and supervision in the post-construction stage. Establishing a full-process and all-factor environmental management system can effectively reduce ecological disturbances, enhance environmental protection efficiency, and promote the coordinated development of urban construction and ecological sustainability. This research provides both theoretical reference and practical guidance for advancing green and low-carbon municipal engineering practices.
