Application research of Respiratory muscle training combined with staged cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program in patients after Heart valve replacement surgery

Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of respiratory muscle training + staged cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program in patients after heart valve replacement surgery. Methods: A total of 84 patients who underwent heart valve replacement in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected and grouped by the random number table method. 42 patients in the conventional group were given conventional rehabilitation training, and 42 patients in the intervention group were given respiratory muscle training + staged cardiopulmonary rehabilitation on the basis of the conventional group. The intervention period was 4 weeks for all. Observe the changes in cardiac function, pulmonary function, exercise endurance and quality of life of the two groups of patients during the intervention period and 4 weeks after the intervention, and compare the postoperative complications of the two groups. Result: The LVEF levels of both groups after 4 weeks of intervention were higher than those before the intervention, and the LVEDD levels were lower than those before the intervention. Moreover, the change range of the intervention group was greater than that of the conventional group (P<0.05). The comparison of the results of MVV, FVC, 6MWT and SF-36 score of the patients revealed that both groups increased after the intervention, and the intervention group was higher than the conventional group (P<0.05). The total incidence of postoperative complications in the intervention group was lower than that in the conventional group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of respiratory muscle training + staged cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program in patients after heart valve replacement can promote the effective recovery of their cardiopulmonary function, improve their exercise endurance and quality of life, and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications at the same time.
