Analysis of the Effectiveness of Continuous Home Nursing Intervention in Patients During the Recovery Phase of Depression

Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effect of continuous home nursing intervention in patients during the rehabilitation period of depression, analyze its impact on depressive symptoms, quality of life, and medication adherence, and provide clinical reference for nursing interventions in such patients. Methods: A total of 120 patients with depression in the rehabilitation period admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected and randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group (60 cases each) using a random number table. The control group received routine discharge guidance and regular follow-up care, while the intervention group received additional continuous home nursing intervention for 6 months. The depressive symptoms, quality of life, medication adherence, and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups before and after the 6-month intervention period, with all relevant data statistically analyzed. Results: Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in HAMD scores, WHOQOL-BREF dimension scores, medication adherence, and recurrence rates between the two groups (P > 0.05). After 6 months of intervention, the intervention group showed significantly lower HAMD scores, higher WHOQOL-BREF dimension scores, significantly higher medication adherence (95.00% vs. 76.67%), and significantly lower recurrence rates (6.67% vs. 23.33%) compared to the control group, with all differences being statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Continuous home nursing intervention can effectively alleviate depressive symptoms in patients during the rehabilitation period of depression, significantly improve their quality of life and medication adherence, reduce disease recurrence rates, and help patients better reintegrate into family and society, demonstrating high clinical value and warranting widespread promotion.
