Analysis of the Application Effect of Digital Impressions and Traditional Impressions in Fixed Restoration

Abstract: Objective: To compare the application effects of digital impressions and traditional impressions in fixed restoration. Method: A total of 60 patients with dental defects who were admitted to our hospital between January 2022 and January 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into a control group and an observation group using a digital allocation method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group used the traditional impression method for restoration, while the observation group employed the digital impression method to analyze and compare the clinical outcomes of restoration, marginal fit, and the chewing function of patients after restoration. Results: The restoration effect of tooth loss in the observation group was 90%, significantly higher than the control group's 73%. The qualified rate of edge tightness in the observation group was 96.7%, significantly higher than the control group's 86.7%. There was no significant difference in chewing function between the two groups before repair (P<0.05). After repair, the chewing function score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), indicating that the observation group is more likely to help patients recover their chewing function. Discussion: Compared with traditional impressions, digital impressions can effectively enhance the restoration effect of patients' teeth, strengthen the edge fit of patients' teeth, and further restore their chewing function.
