Impact of Evidence-Based Nursing Based on the Diffusion of Innovations Theory on Self-Care Ability and Blood Pressure Control in Hypertensive Patients

Abstract: Objective: To explore the practical application effects of an evidence-based nursing model constructed based on the diffusion of innovations theory on self-care and blood pressure control in hypertensive patients. Methods: A total of 64 hypertensive patients who visited our hospital from July 2024 to September 2025 were enrolled and randomly assigned to two groups, with 32 cases in each group. The routine group received standard hypertension care, while the intervention group received evidence-based nursing intervention guided by the diffusion of innovations theory in addition to routine care. Patients' self-care ability, compliance improvement, and blood pressure control were observed. Results: After the intervention, the intervention group scored higher on all dimensions of the ESCA scale and the total CHPS score compared to the routine group, while their SBP and DBP levels were lower than those in the routine group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Introducing evidence-based nursing based on the diffusion of innovations theory into the care of hypertensive patients can effectively improve patients' self-care abilities, enhance treatment compliance, and thereby promote better blood pressure control.
