Analysis of Business Motivations and Performance of Tomson Bio-Health's Acquisition of LSG

Abstract: More and more Chinese companies are choosing to invest overseas in search of more development opportunities, and opportunities often go hand in hand with risks. This paper analyzes the motivation of Tomson's cross-border acquisition of LSG, and uses DuPont analysis to analyze its M&A performance, and finds that in the first year after the acquisition of LSG, Tomson's return on equity plummeted, profits fell from positive to negative, equity multiplier reached a high point, and the asset leverage ratio hit a new high. This proves that the acquisition of By-Health was unsuccessful. In view of this incident, this article summarizes the corresponding experience in improving the effectiveness of M&A, hoping to provide help for the acquisition behavior of related industries.
