Abstract: Dry and hot river valleys are a special fragile ecological environment, influenced by complex geological conditions, meteorological and hydrological conditions and human engineering activities, and prone to geological disasters. In order to reveal the focus and development trend of research on dry thermal valleys at home and abroad, this paper uses Vosviewer software to visualize the literature of CNKI and Web of science databases, and analyzes the authors and collaborations, research institutions, key words and published journals of the articles. The results show that: (1) The field of dry thermal valley is currently in the exploration stage and there is still much room for development; (2) Scholars such as Xiong Donghong, Zhang Baojun and Yang Dan are more influential in the research of dry thermal valley at this stage; (3) The main research areas of dry thermal valley are washouts, soil erosion and soil erosion; (4) due to the limitations of software and human screening, the analysis and retrieval of Vosviewer software; (4) Due to software and human screening limitations, the analysis and retrieval of the Vosviewer software needs further specific exploration. The results of the study can be used to deepen the understanding of dry thermal valley research and provide reference and support for future work.
