The Fiber Optical Refractive Index Sensing System Based on Virtual Instrument

Abstract: In this paper, a dual-channel data acquisition and display system based on LabVIEW platform and optical power meters, which can operate the communication with each other via RS232 port is explored. The system carries out the management tasks, including serial port communication control,the data acquisition control, compute,display and storage of the refractive index. The system is easy to implement and operate. Experiments prove that this system works in stabilization,and the collected data is credible. Theory analyses, software and hardware design of the system are introduced in detail. The system can be used for online monitoring the refractive index of the factory and laboratory.
