Impact of Fiscal Expenditure for Supporting Agriculture on Agricultural Economic Growth in Gansu Province

Abstract: Based on the agricultural economic panel data of 14 cities and prefectures in Gansu Province from 2011-2021, this paper constructs a two-way fixed effect model to study the influence and mechanism of fiscal expenditure for supporting agriculture on agricultural economic growth in Gansu Province. The empirical results show that fiscal expenditure for supporting agriculture has a direct role in promoting agricultural economic growth in Gansu and Suzhou, and the fiscal expenditure for supporting agriculture can promote agricultural economic growth through the intermediary effect. Based on empirical research results, the article proposes suggestions to promote agricultural economic growth in Gansu Province from the perspectives of fiscal expenditure intensity, fiscal expenditure structure, and agricultural technology innovation.
