Full Text(PDF, 1034KB)

Author: Jiao Liu, Hua Li

Abstract: The advantage of variable focus liquid lenses over solid lens systems is their tunability without the use of large actuators such as servo motors. It reviews and summarizes the domestic and the foreign scientific achievements on the varifocal-liquid techniques. Variable focus liquid lenses can be categorized as tuned by the curvature radius of the lens or the liquid in use according to the concept of tunability. Depending on the driving principle of different types, variable radius of curvature of liquid lenses are introduced in details, by introducing the design of the structure, analyze advantages and disadvantages of liquid lens. Finally, for the development status of liquid lenses, it points out a new structure for the investigation of variable focus liquid lenses techniques to eliminate the effects of temperature field.
