Study on Farmers' Political Participation from the Perspective of Whole-Process People’s Democracy

Abstract: The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China declares that the whole-process people’s democracy is the defining feature of socialist democracy, and it is the broadest, most genuine, and most effective democracy. Farmers' political participation as the "last mile" of the whole-process people' s democracy, its effective realization and operation become a very important task to ensure. This paper discusses the current situation and optimization path of farmers' political participation, and holds that it can effectively promote the construction of rural grassroots democratic political system in terms of increasing policy publicity, building effective space for political participation, and perfecting farmers' political participation system.
