Study on Heavy Metal Migration in Toys Based on ICP Analysis

Full Text(PDF, 278KB)

Author: Yingjie Ling

Abstract: This research focuses on heavy metal contamination in children's toys, utilizing Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) technology to systematically analyze and evaluate heavy metal migration in toys. The study reviews the potential health hazards of heavy metal pollution to children and analyzes the development of international toy safety standards. Through the analysis of 300 toy samples, the research reveals the current status and potential risks of heavy metal migration in different types of toys, finding that metal toys and coated toys exhibit the highest levels of heavy metal migration, especially for lead and cadmium. Environmental factors, particularly high-temperature conditions, significantly increase the migration of heavy metals. Based on the research findings, recommendations are proposed, including strengthening material selection, improving manufacturing processes, refining testing standards, and enhancing market supervision, aiming to reduce the risk of heavy metal migration in toys and provide a safer toy environment. This study innovatively applies ICP technology to assess heavy metal migration risks in toys, providing a new methodological reference for toy safety testing, while also offering scientific evidence to raise public awareness and improve relevant policies and industry standards.
