Construction of Competency Model for Compound Engineering Talents

Abstract: Since the 21st century, China's engineering professionals have played an important role in improving China's international competitiveness. At present, the development trend of new engineering is obvious, and the engineering specialty is developing towards a highly complex direction. At the same time, the knowledge and skills of compound engineering talents directly affect their core competitiveness in the employment market. A competency model that conforms to the basic characteristics of engineering talents as well as the current social needs and career development can highlight the advantages of compound engineering talents in the employment market. On the basis of relevant literature research, this paper takes engineering students of sample schools as the research object, analyzes the current situation and competency of composite engineering students. This paper combines the relevant theories of competency model, and clarifies the importance of competency elements, and constructs a competency model of composite engineering talents through questionnaire survey and empirical analysis. Finally, it expounds the application of the model in personnel training and career planning.
