The Historical Development and Current Situation of Sinology in Arab Countries

Abstract: With the rapid development of China's politics and economy, as well as the dissemination of Chinese culture, a large number of foreign scholars are increasingly strengthening their research on Chinese culture, and Sinology is gradually moving towards the world. Sinology is a discipline that scholars outside of China conduct comprehensive research on China. The research methods and development levels of Sinology vary in different countries, and there are also differences in the definition of Sinology. With the rapid development of cultural exchanges between China and Arab countries, as well as the convening of the first World Congress of Sinologists, it is of great significance to understand the current status and development process of Sinology research in Arab countries. This article focuses on the historical development and current situation of Sinology in Arab countries. By collecting and organizing relevant literature on Sinology research at home and abroad, the aim is to systematically understand the historical development of contemporary Sinology in Arab countries, strengthen the understanding of domestic scholars on the development of Arab Sinology, expand the research scope of China's academic community on global Sinology, and understand the historical latitude and dissemination status of Chinese culture in the Arab world, so as to meet the demand for the external dissemination of Chinese discourse in the new era and to tell the story of China well.
