A Study on the Japanese Translation of Chinese Work the Spread and Influence of Modern Chinese Mathematical Translation in Japan Based on the Skopos Theory

Abstract: This paper chose and conducted translation practice based on the Spread and Influence of Modern Chinese Mathematical Translation in Japan from the book The General History of Chinese Science and Technology. As an information text, it is imperative for this book to convey the meaning of the original text in an accurate and object manner. In this regard, it can be totally reflected into the fidelity and coherence rules in the Skopos Theory. Hence, the author conducted translation practice under the guidance of Skopos Theory. During the course, in this paper, we also analyzed some special cases and some techniques are employed like division, combination, and the translation of special terms and conjunctions. All these prove that it is available to translate technological texts under Skopos Theory.
