Abstract: With the wave of a new round of educational reform, the focus and future development trends of primary school mathematics education have correspondingly changed, shifting from the original emphasis on basic knowledge teaching to the integration of mathematical thinking. This has become a key area for frontline teachers to continuously research and explore. Thematic diagrams in primary school mathematics textbooks serve as one of the most important vehicles for integrating mathematical thinking. These diagrams vividly connect real-life situations with mathematical concepts and methods, accelerating the absorption and application of mathematical knowledge, and better helping students "touch" real mathematics and experience mathematical culture. This paper employs a case study approach, using the "Translation" lesson from the People's Education Press primary mathematics curriculum as an example to explore strategies for integrating mathematical thinking through thematic diagrams in primary school mathematics.
