Abstract: Under the “two-way selection” employment model and the increasingly competitive job market, college students' employment has become a focal issue for society. As a crucial avenue for enhancing college students' employability, the teaching reform of university employment guidance courses has become imperative. This study, grounded in the perspective of curriculum ideology and politics, systematically analyzes the shortcomings of current employment guidance courses in effectively guiding students to collect and utilize employment information and improving their job application skills. Combining the employment landscape of the new era and the characteristics of contemporary college students, the paper proposes targeted and actionable reform strategies. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of employment guidance courses by integrating ideological and political education with career guidance, thereby cultivating well-rounded socialist builders and successors with moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor competencies, as well as high employability.
