The journal receives manuscripts written in Chinese or English. As for Chinese papers, the following items in English are indispensible parts of the paper: paper title, author(s), author(s)' affiliation(s),abstract and keywords. Digital Empowerment of the Second Classroom in Legal Education: A Practical Pathway — Taking Moot Court as an Example

Abstract: As a crucial component of the second classroom in legal education, moot court effectively enhances students' legal practice skills. However, traditional teaching models face limitations in terms of venue, resources, and faculty, thereby affecting teaching effectiveness. In recent years, the rapid development of digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) has provided new opportunities for reforming moot court education. This paper explores the application of digital teaching models, including AI legal assistants, VR/AR simulated trials, and online moot court platforms, in empowering legal education. Based on a case study from a university, the study examines teaching implementation, technological applications, and feedback from students and faculty to assess the effectiveness of digital integration. The findings indicate that digital technologies significantly improve students' legal reasoning and case analysis skills, yet challenges such as technological compatibility, resource integration, and cost investment remain. To address these issues, this paper proposes optimization strategies, including the construction of intelligent moot court systems, promoting intercollegiate cooperation and resource sharing, and utilizing big data to enhance teaching evaluation systems. These efforts aim to deepen the integration of legal education with modern information technology, providing both theoretical and practical guidance for the digital transformation of the second classroom in legal education.
