Author: Zhongjie Jiang, Xiaodong Zhou

Abstract: The year 2025 marks a critical period for the comprehensive planning and high-level advancement of China's efforts to build a strong education system. For applied undergraduate universities, enhancing teaching quality and driving high-quality educational development necessitates the establishment of a high-caliber, professional teaching supervision team. However, current challenges in some applied institutions include incomplete top-level design, insufficient "application-oriented" focus in supervision content and indicators, inadequate planning of supervision teams, underdeveloped informatization infrastructure, and ineffective utilization of feedback results. Reforms should focus on: improving top-level design to create a trinity supervision system integrating university, college, and department levels; refining "review, classroom observation, and specialized" supervision content to build an application-oriented evaluation index system; establishing stable full-time and part-time supervision teams to enhance capabilities; elevating the informatization level of supervision work; and strengthening "communication and guidance" to achieve improvement-driven and development-oriented supervision.
