Full Text(PDF, 256KB)

Author: Dan Chen

Abstract: Childhood adversity is an important factor that affects children's physical and mental development. This paper discusses the internal path mechanism of childhood adversity on children's development from three aspects of self-concept: self-concept clarity, self-esteem and self-sympathy, which is of great significance to the prevention and intervention of negative psychological consequences caused by childhood adversity. Future research should focus on the influence of positive psychological resources on the development of children who have experienced childhood adversity, and the cumulative effect of childhood adversity (exposure time and duration of adversity) on children's mental health.
